We stand with The People's Forum. Stop the attack on free speech!

The Trump Administration and its allies in Congress are escalating their assault on progressive, socialist, and left-wing forces. Our First Amendment rights are under direct attack and it’s up to us to stand up and fight back.

On July 21, 2026, the House Ways and Means Committee issued a compulsory subpoena to The People's Forum, demanding internal communications and financial records. This legal action follows the publication of a State Department propaganda report, "Cuba: The Capital of 21st Century Communism," which advances false and sweeping allegations that everyone opposing the criminal blockade of Cuba or supporting social justice movements are left-wing terrorists. Rubio’s State Department Report openly credits Joe McCarthy’s witch-hunt for the destruction of a robust socialist movement that existed in the United States until it was crushed following World War II.

Why is The People's Forum under attack? Because it has helped mobilize opposition to genocide in Gaza, defended immigrant families from ICE, and spoken out against the illegal U.S. blockade of Cuba. For standing on the side of humanity, it is being punished—we say no more!

These attacks are part of a political witch-hunt—a new McCarthyism—modeled on the infamous HUAC hearings that crushed progressive movements in the last century. And it is not aimed at one organization alone,  but a warning to every group and every person who dares to speak out.

The People's Forum was built as a home for working-class movements, political education, and solidarity with the Global South. It will not be silenced and neither will we.

We call on all people of conscience to join us in defending democratic rights and civil liberties.

We say NO to the New McCarthyism. When we stand together, we win.
